Meet Dr. Michael Walker

Michael Walker earned a BS in Practical Ministries from Dallas Christian College graduating Magna Cum Laude, a MA in Religion and Theology from Liberty
Baptist Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Education with Distinction from Liberty University. His research interests include race, gender, religion, theology, organizational culture,
leadership and organizational theory.
Dr. Walker is Director of Real Estate Operations with Texas Health Resources and has
more than 30 years experience in commercial real estate and facilities operations. His prior military service includes active duty in the United States Navy and reserve duty in the United
States Army. Dr. Walker is an educator, teaching courses in ethics, building operations, environmental health and safety, fundamentals of real property administration, asset management, energy management and controls, boiler heating systems, air handler, water treatment and plumbing systems and refrigeration systems for Building Owners and Managers Institute.
Dr. Walker is a dynamic public speaker sought after to speak at meetings and conferences for commercial real estate and healthcare facilities associations. He previously served as a pastor of a local church where his duties included delivering sermons, teaching Bible study courses and performing sacred rituals that included baby dedications, baptisms, weddings, and funerals.

Philosophy of Education
It is my belief that, education provides an individual with the knowledge and skills to build a life, contribute to community, to better understand the world and themselves. Through education, an individual is able to develop cognitive competency in the core areas of academics, social life, history, and culture. Even though educational settings are populated with students of diverse backgrounds, students should be encouraged to gain proficiencies which afford them to excel in life.
My teaching style can best be described as one that fuses diverse teaching methods with transformational leadership behaviors for the purpose of helping students become better persons. I value the importance of curriculum development and incorporating teaching methodologies which produce maximum outcomes in student learning. Education occurs with student engagement; learning is a collaborative process between student and teacher where teachers cause students to learn through involvement, dialogue, critical analysis and drawing conclusions.
In sum, my aim is to foster an educational environment which stimulates learning for the student and teacher. My deepest hope is to positively contribute to the human development of students.
